They call her Doctor Basketball
OK, maybe not. But they should. Evan Joslin ’08 graduated from ASC with a degree in chemistry and received her Ph.D. in inorganic chemistry from the University of Virginia. She now works as a postdoctoral fellow at Johns Hopkins University. As an undergraduate here, she played on the college's basketball team and was captain of the cross country team.
“Most days I look back and find some reason to appreciate Agnes Scott, especially my athletic career,” she said. The intense teamwork required of basketball, in particular, helped her develop the skills necessary to make it through her graduate coursework. “Basketball taught me how to successfully interact with my peers—whatever the circumstances.”
Her time on both the court and the field has powerfully shaped her.
“Athletics have been a big part of my life and continue to provide me with skills that are important for a successful career.”
